Break out the duster and slide that Peabody aside - NBC’s football drama Friday Night Lights has received two Emmy nominations. Although some are calling this a snub, we couldn’t be more thrilled. Sure they’re minor categories and the show has no shot of winning, but we’ll take what we can get and hope for better next year.
The bigger FNL news item, however, involves a large casting rumor for the second season. In a whale of a move, FNL has offered celebrity heavy weight Rosie O’Donnell a recurring role. Rosie’s potential character, the Lady Panther’s soccer coach, will accuse the football program of gluttony and fight for other sports to get a larger slice of budget pie. Although producers are hungry for Rosie to bring a wide appeal to the show, there is some fear her recent stomache aches with Trump and the The View might make some current FNL fans lose their appetite.
