After making our saves, it came time to hold the actual draft to fill out seven twelve-team conferences. The order was based on the final 2006 ranking of the champion of each conference. The first round was held in reverse order, and the rest of the draft proceeded in a serpentine fashion.
Without further ado, let’s get this thing started with the ACC’s first pick: Read the rest of this entry »

Editor’s Note: In light of the tragedy that occurred today at Virginia Tech, our own VT representative proteus4994 shares his thoughts. We’ll be back with something funny tomorrow, I promise. But for now there are some things you can’t joke about, not even Frank Beamer’s neck alien.
Tragedies happen all of the time. Barely a day goes by without someone famous dying, or some natural disaster affecting someone’s life, or violent behavior resulting in someone getting injured and killed. And when these things happen, you see people posting messages on message boards and blogs that say things like “Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of the victims.” Perhaps cynically, I always thought saying things like that were a bit hollow, and I certainly never thought I’d be writing anything like that.
I was wrong. Read the rest of this entry »

Over the next few weeks, H2DN will be examining the lives of several college football coaching legends. A Closer Look will show the more personal side of these men and reveal many previously untold stories.

Born in 1913, Paul Theodore Bundy “Bear” Bryant was the 11th of 12 children born into a poor Arkansas share-cropping family. His grandfather was a decorated veteran of the War of Northern Aggression and did his best to instill the ideals of the Confederacy into Paul and the other children. At the age of 14, a theater company made its way into Bryant’s town and challenged anyone in the audience to wrestle a bear. Paul ran to the front of the crowd and took the bear down after a long fight, but not before he had earned himself a nickname that would follow him for the rest of his life and the bear had earned the small meal that was Bryant’s right testicle. A constant discussion in the offseason is how to best reorganize the conferences. “Notre Dame should join a conference.” “The Big Ten should get a 12th team and get a conference championship game.” “[Insert conference here] should get rid of any shitty private school like Northwestern, Vanderbilt, or USC.”
To help pass the time we decided to set up a draft to create 7 elite conferences in D-1A. Read the rest of this entry »

When you quit laughing at the title, I want you to open up your mind. I am being serious about this. I know a lot of people are going to dismiss the article from the beginning, but if you will just take the time to read it I think you will begin to see the truth.

At H2DN we consider it a sacred duty to lampoon every aspect of college football, and that includes the heart and soul of the game, the fans. Thanks to You Tube, anyone can upload a video and share it with the world. College football is more than represented, as any halfway decent player gets homemade Heisman campaign videos, and even every band (like our favorite, the Pride of West Virginia) gets their routines posted. There are some videos that are very good, and others that are so bad they are good.
Today we feature one of the latter. Read the rest of this entry »

Hmm… why did the last drive of this championship game look so familiar…
First year coach? Check.
Underrated white quarterback? Check.
Lots of blue? Check.
Hook and ladder? Check.
Did we mind seeing it all over again? HELL 2 DA NAW

Editor’s Note: In light of the recent controversy regarding radio personality Don Imus’ on-air slurs of Rutgers women’s basketball team, one H2DN writer professes his own undying devotion to those nappy-headed hos.
Greetings readers. Today, I have a shocking revelation to make to our collective self help group here at Hell 2 Da Naw. I am a big football fan. There’s a school, not too far from where I grew up, where half of my family went to college. I am soon to graduate from such school, and am also a fan of its football teams. If that does not sound too peculiar so far, keep reading to have your mind blown as if you were hypnotized by Psyduck himself. Read the rest of this entry »
